Veterinary Assistants

JESSIE

Jessie started working at the clinic in the late 1998 as a veterinary assistant after studying in Canada completing a course in Animal care. Jessie is the longest standing member of the team at the clinic. In 1998 Jessie studied a course in animal Care in Canada, this enhanced Jessie’s interest and drive for her commitment to the animal care industry. Since then Jessie has also complete her AIRC certification and recently became a qualified veterinary nurse. Jessie has a keen interest in dog behavior and training, she plans to take a course to be able to help clients and dogs with training and behavioral problems.

Jessie has 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 parrots. A sulphur crested cockatoo and a very playful moluccan cockatoo. Most of Jessie’s spare time is used caring for her animals and ensuring they are happy and have lots of stimulation.


 

JOYCE 

Joyce has been a Veterinary Assistant since October 2000 and since July 2003 she has been working in our Hospital. Joyce has completed her AIRC level II Veterinary Nursing course. She is a busy working mother with two gorgeous girls who were born in 2004 and 2007. When not working and caring for her children Joyce also helps her children look after their two Teddy Bear Hamsters- Ribbon and String.

CONNIE

Connie initially started working with us on March 2003 as a receptionist. Connie left us in September 2006 and returned in November 2008 rejoined us as a veterinary assistant. Connie has completed her AIRC Cert II and is now continue her AIRC Cert IV in Jan 2011. As a level 4 veterinary assistant Connie works well as part of the team and shares her knowledge within the clinic. She spends most of her time working downstairs in the clinic contributing to appointments running smoothly and dealing with problems which may arise throughout each day. After a busy day at the clinic Connie enjoys spending her evenings walking and relaxing with her 2 Golden retrievers.

KELVIN

Kelvin joined us in 2004, he graduated from Australia Canberra Institute of Technology gaining an Advanced Diploma in Animal Technology in 2002. Kelvin continues to study animal related subject and he had completed small animal anesthsaisa ,hematology and complete AIRC cert II and IV in 2011.

Kelvin is mainly responsible for anesthesia monitoring ,and perpration for the surgical patients at the clinic.

NOOPY

Noopy is at her happiest when she sees animals going home well and happy with their owners giving her the satisfaction that she works so hard to gain.

Noopy's work ethic is to be patient to love and care, she feels this is a must have to work to a high standard as her main duty is caring for and nursing hospital in patients by giving them medications, support feeding as well as TLC.

Tai Wai is pleased to have Noopy caring for the hospital inpatients as she is very knowledgeable and a caring VA. After all her hard work Noopy is due to qualify as an AIRC veterinary Nurse in July 2011.

CORINNE

Corinne mixed with our team well soon after she joined us from the very beginning of 2007. She worked in a totally different industry for years where she gained lots of customer contact experience that is totally transferable to our hospital for up keeping our quality services. Without a doubt, Corinne is a pet lover especially dogs. She has two Schnauzer named Ball Jai and Dick Dick who are 9 and 3 years old.

ICEY

Icey returned to our family in May 2007. She started her career in animal care with us years ago then worked at the SPCA and other private clinics for some years before returning to Tai Wai. Icey is an experienced veterinary assistant and we were happy to have her back. In September 2010 Icey changed her position to work in our retail area where she is able to share her knowledge with clients on suitable products for their pet ensuring a happy and healthy life. Icey has previously kept dogs, hamsters and terrapins. She is a real cat lover, she now shares her flat with a total of five cats and one chinchilla named Derby who keeps her busy in her spare time.

  TIPPI

Tippi is a very cheerful veterinary assistant. After finishing her Certificate in Animal Studies by Animal Industries Resource Centre, she decided she would love to learn more about exotic pets and other small animals so she joined us here in Tai Wai. Tippi previously worked in Macau for one and a half years, so often travels there to visit her friends. Fortunately, she doesn’t like to gamble in the casinos so spends her spare time playing tennis, hiking, diving, swimming and of course traveling.

CARRIE

Carrie has been in the veterinary industry for over two years and joined Tai Wai in June 2010. She enjoys working with animals, especially cats. Carrie is currently busy completing her AIRC level II qualification. In her spare time she enjoys reading books and watching good films. At home carrie has 5 cats that can be troublesome, these keep her busy wanting to play and be groomed.

TINA

Tina has been with us since August 2010. During the time with us, she has highly contributed her effort to work with our professional team. And she started her AIRC level II Veterinary Nursing course since January 2011, by which she will become more professional in order to provide a good quality nurse support and service. Tina is a busy working mother with two little daughters who were born in 2006 and 2009. At home, Tina has three Hamsters, two tanks of marine fish, and one tortoise, those occupied her spare time, too.

SUE

Sue has been working in the veterinary industry since the summer in 2009 so she is still quite fresh to the job. After joining the clinic in September 2010 Sue has become a happy and friendly part of the team, she is keen to learn new skills and enjoys giving her best when caring for the animals. Over the next few months Sue plans to start her training towards the AIRC certificate level 2 contributing to her expanding knowledge contributing to the high level of care at Tai Wai. Sue was originally born in London and moved to Hong Kong with her husband for a new adventure and to be closer to her family, she spends her spare time enjoying outdoor activities, exploring Hong Kong and doing Yoga.

RONNIE

Ronnie served in totally different fields before he joined our clinic in September 2010. Ronnie is an optimistic person lead by his harmonious family. There is no doubt Ronnie gets the most job satisfaction when he sees patients condition improve, animals get better and go home with their owners. In order for Ronnie to enhance his knowledge in animal care he is in the process of completing his AIRC certificate level II. Ronnie’s favorite pets are rodents especially chinchillas. Ronnie calls himself a ‘Chinaholic’. Ronnie currently owns 6 chinchillas and a bunny, he regards these as him main entertainment and spends his spare time caring and interacting with them to ensure they have a happy and fulfilling life.

CRYSTAL

Crystal has been a vet assistant since 2003, after she graduated from the University of Hong Kong, majoring biochemistry. After a break from the medical field working in the sales & marketing sector for a year, she then worked in exotic animal husbandry and hand-raised a love-bird chick, thus developed deep interests in avian and other exotic animals. All these experience helped her to understand the "successful treatment triangle" – compassion, understanding and mutual support, among the animals, owners and medical staffs. Therefore, she enjoys sharing the knowledge with clients and helping them to understand the vet’s advice as well as how they and their treasured animals will be benefited from it. She hopes to complete AIRC training and be professionally recognized soon. In her free time, she enjoys reading, swimming, hiking and writing. She currently has an 8-year-old cat, which was adopted in the 1st year working as a VA. Crystal’s personal mission statement to animal is "Adopt instead of buying".
