Tripod is our bearded dragon who will be familiar to many as the spiky lizard who lived in the tank in the reception of the first clinic.
She has been with us since her previous owner gave her to us in 1997 and is now an old lady. She had to have one of her front legs amputated because she was bitten by another dragon and developed a serious infection that could not be treated. Her second major surgery came in 1999 when she was attracted by the shine on some glass marbles and ate seven. They has to be removed and she still has a large scar on her belly. She is fed 3 times a week on a diet of vegetables, leaves and insects.
These dragons are amongst the easiest of lizards to keep and are a species we suggest keeping as pets also because they are not endangered.
