Alicia graduated from Onderstepoort, University of Pretoria, in South Africa in 2009. Since then she has worked in multiple practices ranging from small 1 vet clinics, 24 hour referral hospitals, animal welfare organizations and wildlife hospitals. Before coming to Hong Kong she was working in a wildlife rehabilitation center which as well as dealing with urban wildlife treatment and release, they also worked closely with the authorities on the illegal pangolin trade. Alicia was lucky to be able to assist in the treatment, rehabilitation and release of pangolins rescued from the trade. She has hand-reared many species from hours old chicks to bushbabies, mongooses, and serval cats. She is passionate about wound management and critical care/emergency treatment and her favorite species to work with are snakes. When not at work she is an avid PC gamer and streamer, but also enjoys taking the time to go hiking or snuggling up with a good fantasy book. She has 2 snakes, a hognose and corn snake, 2 miniature dachshunds, a 3 legged mixed breed rescue and 1 cat. They all currently still live with her family in South Africa.
