Hospitalisation

Here at Tai Wai Small Animal and Exotics Hospital we are committed to providing the highest level of care for your tortoise and therefore we have a specially designed ‘Hot Ward’ in order to hospitalize your tortoise and other reptiles under the best conditions.

If your tortoise requires special care, for example so we can provide close monitoring before and after surgery, or to provide fluid or food support when they are ill, then our vet may recommend your pet staying in hospital.

In our hospital in the past we have comfortably hospitalised from 25 gram hatchling African spurred tortoises (Geochelone sulcata) up to large 65 kg adults.

In our ‘Hot Ward’ we have a variety of cages, tanks and spas as well as all the necessary additional equipment, lighting and heating, in order for us to provide the ideal environment to support your tortoises recovery.
